Official Launch! - 21.01.09
After a long delay in
the post-production stage (a lot of re-mixing and re-editing) the
highly anticipated music video is finally here!
Today we officially launched
our first music video, "Home"!
Semiquaver, Felix, and our friends at Kerudung
Hitam Productions have been working very hard for this video,
and we are very proud of our work!
Some of you might wonder
why Charles, our current
drummer, isn't in the video. The answer is that the video was actually
produced and shot before Charles joined the band, which is why Felix,
our first drummer, filled in for the music video.
Stace also specifically
redesigned the whole website to promote the video, so please feel free
to look around and check out our new website! Don't forget to fill in our new
guestbook, and help us to promote
the video to your friends!

Pesta Kampung, here we
come!
Charles, hi and welcome!- 28.07.08
Semiquaver will be
performing at Pesta Kampung, 16th
August 2008 at the UTS, along with Kuta Groove, Akademic
Misconduct, Flavi, Leroy, Plan of Eden, & Castle on Fire. Semiquaver is going to open the event at
10:25am, so don't be late! This will also be our first
performance with our latest line-up; with Charles on drums (welcome aboard,
bro!). Charles is Stace's classmate who came from Hong Kong, and after
a group presentation they somehow talked about playing music, and so
he's in!
Also, Baim from The Half
Educated will be our additional bassist! Don't miss it!
"Home" music video shoot - 31.05.08
The video shoot goes
extremely well without any major problems, and the originally two-days
shoot schedule were finished in one day only! We are very amazed by the
professionalism of our friends from Kerudung
Hitam Productions, and all of us are having a very good time
shooting the video, with never-ending jokes and laughs on the sets.
Surrounded by our friends who are pretty much musical people, the sets
are always filled with everyone who played whatever instruments
available on the shooting locations.
We prepared everything
from 8am in the the morning until the last cut somewhere around 9.30pm,
and all of us are pretty much exhausted, but with a smile on our faces.
Even when tired, it doesn't stop Stace, Jonny, Henry & Indra
(Semiquaver's ex-keyboardist from our first line-up who visited the
last set to see our video shoot process) to go straight to Star City
Casino that night; And the ones who spent their money there actually
bring more on their way home. It's a good day afterall! Thanks, God!
We would also like to say thanks to Ryan for the video and lighting equipments, CoFA's security guard who provides the studio room for us, Angel for the documentary photos, Baim (from the band The Half Educated, and also the director of Akademic Misconduct's music video "Berganti", and RaynCo's music video "That's Love") and Andrew (known as the actor from the indie movie "Under The Same Sky") for their help on the sets, and also Evie for her fresh baked cookies that were stolen by the crew.

Semiquaver will perform in Indonesian Night Market 2008, 13 May, at UNSW Beer Garden - FREE ENTRY! We will perform at 4.20pm. Because one and other reasons, we are unable to play as a full band, and so Stace and Jonny will play acoustic for the event. We will also be joined by Angel (Henry's girlfriend) as an additional keyboardist, since Henry himself can't attend because he got an exam on that date & time.

The third year of our
band - 16.04.08
We've been through a lot, but we keep on going! Today we start our third year as a band, and we want to say thanks to everyone for helping and supporting us all this time! Cheers!
The "Home" music video project (Part 2) - 14. 04.08
After calling our friend
Enrico (from the bands Fuchsia,
Khuruksetra, Kalimayat, & Postpop among others), we got a positive
reply from Kerudung
Hitam Productions'
movie director and our friend Danif
(from the noise groups Kalimayat
& Khuruksetra).
Being a movie director,
Danif is also known in the music community as one of the leading
figures of noise music, having been covered by MTV for his Kalimayat
project (Adrian, our ex-bassist, is actually a big fan of him). Danif
will be directing our "Home"
music video, with Enrico and Andreas
from Kerudung Hitam Productions.
The "Home" music video project (Part 1) - 09.04.08
Out of nowhere, Stace
got a call from Felix (our
first and original drummer), as he offers Semiquaver an opportunity to
make a music video for some project. Naturally we accept it (of
course!), and Felix himself will fill in as our additional drummer for
this occasion, while Henry will put his guitar aside for a while and
play bass for the video since we haven't got a bass player yet.
We agreed that we will
make a music video for our song "Home",
and we will re-record the song specifically for the video. "Home" is one of Semiquaver's very
first songs, and it was the first song we recorded a demo of, and is
usually the first song to be played in our rehearsals. And so, the song
is chosen to be in our first music video! The song will be produced and
mixed by Felix himself.
Felix, Stace, &
Henry also discussed their ideas of the scenes and locations for the
video, while Stace wrote the script and concepts of the music video to
be connected with the concept of the song itself.
New guitarist in the
family: Henry - 18.03.08
After being a duo for a
while, Semiquaver's founding members Stace and Jonny finally joined by Henry. Henry is actually a friend of
Robin and Adrian's (our previous drummer and bassist, respectively),
and therefore he's always been there in our social circle - and now he
officialy joins Semiquaver as our new guitarist. Welcome, Henry!
Adrian: Goodbye Sydney

And now another member
of the band, Adrian, also goes back to his hometown since his study in
Sydney is over. Being one of the original members of the band, Adrian
has always been together with us since the very beginning; playing,
making music, hanging out and joking together with us since day one. We
wish you the best for your plans on making an indie music store there
at your place, man...and thanks a lot for everything!
The Robin flies away -
05.07.07
Today our drummer and
best friend Robin flies back to his hometown (he'll go to China later
on for his studies), and therefore leaving Semiquaver behind to pursue
his own future. Thanks a lot for everything 'Bin, to be there when we
need you, and being a part of the Semiquaver family. We'll miss rocking
out the garage together with you. Good luck, bro!

Robin - 28.06.06
We want to introduce our
new member, Robin, as the offical Semiquaver's drummer!
Robin is actually one of
our friends from a long time ago, and some of the band members just
happened to hang out together for a drink in a bar with him a few days
ago where we
to talked about music and stuff.
Noticing our ads for a drummer, he quickly called to join us, which of course we're more than happy to have him as our new drummer! Welcome to the family, man!
DRUMMER WANTED! - 16.06.06
As you can see from the latest news below, our drummer Felix has just resigned to pursue other projects. That means: we're currently looking for a drummer!
Here are the requirements:
+ Could play drums (style: brit / alternative / pop / rock - skill
doesn't matter)
+ Located in Sydney
+ Possess the heart to appreciate music
+ Own a drum kit
+ Location: the nearer to eastern suburbs, the better.
The next two requirements would be
huge advantages, but not essential:
+ Own a transport (for the drums)
+ Have a practice place (garage or whatever)
If you are - or if you know someone who could meet the requirements

Felix - 16.06.06
Last night, our drummer Felix has decided to resign from his position as Semiquaver's drummer to pursue other projects. There's nothing bad happened between us, no hard feelings, and we're still good friends with him. We talked about it, and it's just seems like the best way for both him and Semiquaver to focus on our own future and dreams from now on. We want to say thanks a lot to Felix, without him we won't be where we are right now. All the fun times we go through, the friendship, and the memories - they're all priceless. Thanks a lot for your help bro, we're looking forward to play with you again someday. We wish you the best for everything, and God bless.

We just want to let you guys know that two of our band members have switched their position. It's official that from now on, Adrian is our bassist - while Indra becomes our guitar & keyboard player. No animals or musical instruments are harmed in this process.
